Be Active Cyclo Sportif series heads into the majestic jarrah forests on Sunday, 15 July 2012 for the fun yet challenging team participation event in Waroona. Commencing at Waroona Recreation and Aquatic Centre, participants will cycle to Dwellingup and back on the 79km or 52km course designed to suit riders of all levels and experience.

“There is always an amazing team spirit in Waroona with riders working together to get up the hills and around the course and we encourage new riders to join in as it is a great way for people to develop their group cycling skills” Bicycling Western Australia’s CEO Jeremey Murray says.

“The Waroona event is not a race and the course is suitable for cyclists of all abilities. It is a great opportunity for people to challenge themselves in a fully supported ride” he says.

Individual riders are encouraged to register and will be placed in a composite team that matches their ability and experience. The event, with fantastic scenery and challenging hills is one not to be missed.

“This is our third year holding this event in Waroona and we love the support shown by the local community. We are fortunate that Alcoa has sponsored the event and are encouraging their staff to join in or volunteer on the day.” Mr Murray says

Following the event, a hearty hot lunch will be served to the riders inside the Recreation Centre, giving them plenty of opportunity to chat with fellow participants and share their riding experiences before the prize and awards presentations.

The event is presented with assistance from Healthway and Be Active Cycle Instead.

Online registrations are now open and full details are available at www.bwa.org.au.
