Flexible Protection

Many riders avoid any form of body armour for cross-country and trail use as it’s typically too hot, restrictive and generally uncomfortable when slogging uphill. The G-Form product line looks like it has the potential to change this. Their knee pads use special padding that’s sewn to a tight fitting compression fabric—compared to most protective gear they seemed quite light and flexible. The proprietary padding is said to offer ‘rate-dependent’ impact protection; meaning it’s actually meant to stiffen upon impact. These interesting-looking pads should sell for around $70 and we currently have a set on review, so check out our next issue to see how they go…
