Freedom Machine Changes Ownership and Management Structure

Iconic Melbourne bike retailer The Freedom Machine was originally started by Adrian Curnow in Chapel Street Prahran. For many years it ran in a small corner store in Chapel Street. Gradually the business expanded. Adrian opened a new, larger store in Port Melbourne, then business partner Emi opened in Brighton. The original store took over the old Bike House shop on a larger site a few blocks south along Chapel Street. The most recent addition was a fourth store in Williamstown.

Adrian has now sold out of the business, with ownership of all four stores now shared between Darius Salkunas, Emi Ubaldi and Wade Thorpe. Darius will be manage Human Resources, Wade will manage purchasing and Emi will be manage the overall operatons. Head Office will be at the Port Melbourne store.

Meanwhile Adrian is looking forward to a new career in computer software, which has long been an area of passion and expertise for him.
