Super Bike Expansion

  • Posted: 22nd June 2012

The new SuperBike or ‘SB’ suspension platform from Yeti Cyles was one of the most hyped introductions for 2011. For 2012 Yeti has expanded the SB line up to include two new models. The SB66c is a carbon version of the original 150mm travel alloy SB66. Using a full carbon main frame and swing arm, Yeti retains the same geometry and suspension performance but drops the claimed frame weight from 3.4kg down to 2.72kg—680g is an impressive weight saving.

Meanwhile, the all new SB95 is a 127mm travel trail oriented 29er. With a 69.5-degree head angle, the geometry is slacker than most while the short 443mm chainstays aim to keep the bike nimble. With frame rigidity as a priority, the alloy SB95 frame is said to weigh in at 3.4kg. Pricing should come in at $2,950 for the SB95 and $3,790 for the SB66c with various complete builds available.
