Zero Z005 Car Rack

The Z005 is another tow ball mounted hanger type rack from Zero, which is part of the Avanti stable. It brings the benefits of easy access, simplicity and rugged construction. Its base plate is bolted down to the towbar tongue by the tow ball and its nut providing a very strong stable foundation for the rack. The uprights and arms are a separate section that can be removed easily while the rack is not in use leaving just the base plate of the rack attached. It’s quick and easy to remove and replace and can be locked in place and allows easy access to your tailgate or boot area. The drawback of this is the wide steel plate still fixed to the tow ball which itself already is a hazard for shins. Like the Z001 if you prefer to leave the rack in place, the arm will fold down to minimise its footprint. Again this rack will handle four bikes easily and has stabilising straps to secure bikes during transit. Two heavy duty velcro straps hold top tubes firmly in each of the single arm’s four rubber seats.

These four seats are 190mm wide and so offer slightly more total mounting support than the Z001, but with a narrower clamping base compared to the 250mm wide dual arms of the Z001.  A rugged unit that will transport four bikes with ease suited to carrying steel and heavier alloy frames.

 RRP: $209.95
