Pedal for Prevention
Pedal for Prevention is a series of exciting new events to be launched in 2011 to help raise funds for Kidney Health Australia. In February 2011, we are heading to Tasmania for a 9 day cycle tour of Tasmania starting in Launceston, travelling through towns such as Bicheno and Port Arthur and finishing in Hobart.

Each entrant must raise a minimum of $5000 to enter with this covering:
- 8 night’s accommodation
- 8 breakfasts
- 7 lunches
- 7 dinners
- Tour support driver/mechanic and cycling guide
- Support van and custom built luggage and bike trailer
- National Parks fees
- Entry to Port Arthur Historic Site
- Touring bike hire including helmet (if required)
- Comprehensive trip notes, maps and lots of great local knowledge
When you register, you will be sent a welcome pack which outlines ways to raise the $5000, in particular the use of Everyday Hero which will allow you to easily build your own fundraising page and raise the money needed with people donating and instantly receiving a tax deductible receipt. Everyone that donates any money via any means to you will receive a tax deductible donation. So go ahead and raise the money needed, support a great cause and have the time of your life.
This tour is designed to be physically challenging and will require some training to prepare you. As part of your registration pack you will receive a training planner to help get you ready for this ride. People will want to support you more if they know you are making a personal sacrifice and improving your health and fitness. Funds raised will go towards Kidney Health Australia’s fight against kidney disease, in particular our KEY prevention program – Kidney Evaluation for You.
