Right now, Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne is raising funds to send our second shipping container of bikes to Zambia where they will benefit a community for many years to come.

About this ride then?

My name is Paulius Kviecinskas and I’m ridingfrom Perth to Melbourne on single speed bike to try to raise $10 000 for Bicycles for Humanity.  I will ride around 4500 kilometres carry my own  gear and try not to blow up my knees.  I will be joined in Ceduna by my friend Luke Troja.  More people are welcome to join in, the more the merrier.  If you cannot join me please donate to a worthy cause.  There is a little about what Bicycles for Humanity do below.  For more information or to donate click on the animation on the right of the screen.  Or go to the Donate button.

When then?

I will be leaving Perth on the 16th of October and arriving on the 27th of November at Docklands in Melbourne.

About Bicycles For Humanity

Bicycles for Humanity is a world wide organisation focused on making a difference through the re-distribution of un-used bikes. The video (to the right up top) sums up what we do – take that old bike from the back of your garage and give it a new life where it will make a fundamental and life changing difference – in some of the poorest nations in the world.

Right now, Bicycles for Humanity, Melbourne is raising funds to send our second shipping container of bikes to Zambia where they will benefit a community for many years to come.Your bike will be sent to Zambia where our partner BEN Namibia recieves it. The shipping container becomes a Bicycle Empowerment Centre – a shipping container bike workshop. Clever, huh ?  It will provide skills training, business opportunities and employment for the community in which it is placed. Your bike will remove the tyranny of distance for the HIV aids remote care workers, amongst others,  to whom the bicycles are distributed.
