The Melrose Fat Tyre Festival, 10-12 June 2011

The Melrose Fat Tyre Festival is a long weekend of mountain bike riding in the beautiful Southern Flinders Ranges on purpose built single track. The festival centre is in the attractive town of Melrose (Population 200) where the atmosphere is decidedly country but the facilities are everything a visitor could wish for. 10th, 11th, 12th June 2011.

Each day you will ride through the gnarly Flinders Ranges. Climb and descend through old copper mines, historic stone ruins, beautiful farming land, untouched native scrub and majestic gum lined creeks.

The rides are graded with all abilities catered for.Rides vary from a double black diamond epic 5 hr circumnavigation of the local hills for the fit and skilled enthusiast, to an easy tour through the streets of Melrose, stopping at a local coffee shop.

The friendly festival atmosphere is enhanced by skill sessions, a clunker criterion (dress up the daggiest bike you can find for a hilarious competition in the main street), 2 lovely country pubs and coffee shops, a chance to share the spills and thrills party and dancing to a live band at the Institute on Saturday night. Find yourself in a great new place. Come ride with us!
