Customer Service Officer (Inbound/Outbound)

As a Customer Service Officer you will report to, and work closely with the Customer Service Team Lead and the Customer Service Manager. Your core responsibility is to provide the highest level of customer service to both external and internal customers, including a particular focus on ensuring all orders are entered in a timely and efficient manner. In addition, you will be responsible for outbound calling to an existing customer base and will be accountable for meeting sales targets.

You will be required to ensure all customers are dealt with in a professional and timely manner at all times. You will also be required to service the Dealer base with stock information including availability, alternatives and expected delivery dates for back orders. You will inform Dealers of specials and promotional items. You will interact and assist Account Managers as required.

You understand the requirement to meet customer needs within the context of the organisation's policies and practices. You will immediately advise Customer Service Team Lead of any serious customer related issues and make recommendations of appropriate action to be taken.

The successful applicant will have:

About the role
At the heart of our bicycle retail business is our modern workshop, with experienced mechanics, servicing and maintaining our customers' bicycles and assisting the retail staff in sales and day-to-day operations.

We are looking to hire a trained bicycle mechanic to service, repair and assess customers' bikes, and manage the workshop output. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • To assess customers bikes for service/ repair, and communicate transparently to the customer all required steps and costs.
  • To manage the daily output of the workshop.
  • To maintain exceptionally high standards of repair and servicing.
  • To maintain transparent and exceptionally high standards of communication and customer service.
  • To assemble new bikes for customer orders and floor stock.
  • To maintain tidiness of the workshop and store throughout the day.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assist with sales enquiries and POS
  • Assist with phone / email enquiries.
  • Assist with staff training.
  • Assist with business projects, PR events etc.
  • Assist with stock take and product ordering and re-stocking.

 

About you
The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience working within a busy bicycle workshop, and detailed experience servicing & repairing all types of bicycle. Qualifications preferable.
  • Be highly organized and self motivated.
  • Comfortable navigating your way through ambiguous situations and able to come up with high quality, cost effective solutions.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Be passionate about cycling and the bicycle industry.
