Eurobike Award for POC Crane helmet
POC is proud to announce that the Crane helmet has been awarded the Eurobike Award 2012.
The Crane helmet is developed with the freeride cyclist in mind, in need for great ventilation and low weight. The challenge has been to meet these demands while promoting durability and dent resistance, as there is often a contradiction between these qualities.

Using an EPS sandwich construction combining one softer and one stiffer density keeps the weight low and increases energy absorbing properties. The outer stiffer liner together with the vacuum formed thicker shell (still extremely thin at 1 mm) makes it 50 % more resistant to dents, compared to normal in-mold helmets.
"We are grateful that the jury has noticed the subtle but paradigm-changing properties for this type of helmets. It's going to mean a more comfortable ride, a lighter and snugger tool that stays on ones head in critical situations and maneuvers, together with great protection and superb durability." Says Stefan Ytterborn, CEO of POC.
The Eurobike Award provides the retail trade as well as consumers with an endorsement of good design and a sense of orientation on a widely diverse market. It reveals what is innovative and functional as well as environmentally compatible and sustainable. This award has developed into an outstanding marketing instrument for bicycle industry.
