About Us
Bicycling Australia is the trading name for Lake Wangary Publishing Co, which was founded in 1989 by Phil and Catie Latz. It was originally based in Wangary, South Australia, (next to the lake after which the company takes its name), before moving to Wollongong, NSW at the end of 1992.
Our first magazine was Bicycling Australia, followed over the years by Bicycling Trade, Bicycling Yearbook, Bicycling Buyers’ Guide, Bicycling Australia Show Guide and Mountain Biking Australia.
Around 1995 we launched the first version of our website, now BicyclingAustralia.com.au
From 1998 to 2006, we organised the annual Bicycling Australia Show, alternating between Sydney (odd years) and Melbourne (even years).
In 2001 we founded the annual Bicycling Australia Challenge, which is a long distance ride to raise funds for Teen Challenge (since renamed 'One80TC' in NSW). For more information visit www.one80tc.org.
On 23rd June 2006 we launched BA Gear, now Bicycling Australia Store, which offers a range of cycling merchandise for sale including books, calendars, dvds, posters, giftware and jewellery.
During 2006 we also established BA Press, to publish a range of cycling books. The first went on sale in December 2007.
On 7th September 2010 we launched Where to Ride London, our first international cycling guide in the growing series of Where to Ride and Where to Bike books.
BA Press is proud to partner with World Bicycle Relief. Founded in 2005, World Bicycle Relief is dedicated to providing access to independence and livelihood through the power of bicycles. For more information visit www.worldbicyclerelief.org.
The Bicycling Australia Store warehouse is located in Port Kembla, NSW. We hold stock of virtually all products on site and ship several times per week.
Most of us at Bicycling Australia are active cyclists. Our company vision is to enhance all aspects of cycling by providing events and information for both trade and consumers. Everything our team does must be of the highest quality and integrity.

Bicycling Australia is a Christian based company. In acknowledgement of this, each issue of our magazines includes includes a dedication and bible verse and a portion of company resources are donated to various charities.
