CPF Wins Major Breakthrough for Federal Funding of Cycling

After several years of lobbying by the Cycling Promotion Fund (CPF), the Federal Minister for Transport, Anthony Albanese has made the announcement that projects funded through Nation Building II (a funding pool of up to $16 billion), must include a provision for active travel including walking and riding.

BIA To Survey the Bike Industry

Bicycle Industries Australia (BIA) regularly collects data on the current position on the industry.

This data is distributed to both wholesalers and retailers to assist in business decisions.

The data is also used heavily in representations to state and federal governments by the BIA and the Cycling Promotion Fund (CPF) on the industries behalf to gain greater investment in cycling infrastructure, programs and policies.

10,000 Riders Expected for Third Annual EastLink Ride

If ever you need proof that cyclists are attracted to car free roads, the annual Hanover ConnectEast Ride is a good example.

After just three years the ride is expected to attract 10,000 cyclists and raise $450,000 for charities tackling homelessness.

EastLink is a major toll road that runs through the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
