Specialized Diverge 4
US brand Specialized has launched the latest iteration of its popular Diverge gravel bike. The Diverge model first appeared in our bike shops about 10 years ago and has come a long way.
Changes over its predecessor include increased tyre clearance, updated geometry, bigger storage and the latest Future Shock 3.0 suspension system.
Positioned between the stem and headtube, Future Shock 3.0 delivers 20mm of hydraulically damped travel, absorbing impacts without compromising weight, handling, or responsiveness. This system was first seen on Specialized’s endurance bike, the Roubaix.

Castelli new Perfetto jacket
Castelli’s new Perfetto RoS 3 Jacket is constructed from a new fabric called Polartec® AirCore™. Castelli says the Perfetto (Italian for Perfect) RoS (Rain or Shine) 3 Jacket redefines what ‘breathable’ means.
AirCore™, developed for Castelli in partnership with Polartec®, is lightweight, highly breathable, windproof, and water repellent.
The new fabric is 100% free from PFAS-based chemicals and engineered from recycled polyester yarns. The membrane is produced by a process called electrospinning. Under pressure, it emits a thin jet of microscopic filaments – approximately 100 times smaller than a human hair – which falls like snow to create a tight membrane that allows air to permeate it.

Silca Elettrico Ultimate and Micro
Offered in two sizes, Silca, the brand known for its innovation, has the slightly larger Electtrico Ultimate and the smaller version called the Micro. Both work with Presta or Schrader valves and are threaded to work with Silca Shradero or HIro Locking air chucks. Both also include an extension air hose with a Presta adapter for the hose, and a ball needle.
The Micro has an auto shutoff at 72psi for hookless safety and is the equivalent of up to four CO2 cartridges on one charge. It weighs just 111grams, measures 65 x 46.5 x 28mm, and charges in 25 to 60 minutes. It has a retail price of $219.95.
The Ultimate has a range of 3-100psi and a settable digital gauge. Silca says it is accurate to 1% when using the supplied hose attachment. On one charge, it is equivalent to nine CO2 cartridges. It weighs 222 grams and measures 81 x 60 x 32mm. Like the Micro, it charges in 25 to 60 minutes. It has a retail price of $269.95.

Castelli Espresso jerseys & bib shorts
Castelli has a new range of men’s and women’s cycling kit in a wide range of colours, aptly named Espresso. The jerseys and bibs are designed to mix and match.
Castelli says its proprietary fabric provides breathability, aerodynamics, and the perfect fit. The branding has been kept subtle, with a small Castelli logo on the upper front and on the centre rear pocket. Up close, the jerseys have subtle stripes, but from afar, they appear as on-trend block colours. The jerseys retail for $229.
The Castelli Espresso bib knicks include the company’s top-level chamois and raw-cut legs with built-in silicon grippers. There is also a hidden pocket on the back for storage, and like the jerseys, they come in a range of colours. The retail price is $299.
The Espresso range also includes socks, gloves, vests and more, to complete the look.

Cervélo R5 lightweight road bike
US brand Cervélo continues to add to its racing lineup with the official launch of the Cervélo R5 lightweight road bike, designed with climbing and performance in mind.
The new R5 in size 56 builds up to just 5.97kg, 900 grams under the UCI’s minimum weight limit. The frame weighs 651 grams (size 56), and the fork weighs 298 grams. In addition to the 100g reduction in frame/fork weight, the Cervélo team examined every single component on the bike, resulting in a total weight reduction of 326g from all Cervélo components. They even saved on the paintwork using a raw carbon finish with only the Cervélo logo added to the frame!
Cervélo says the new R5’s handling geometry is nearly the same (aside from a small change to the BB drop to account for 29mm tyres), and the fit geometry has been changed to match that of the S5.

Michelin performance road tyres
The Michelin Pro 5 is a new addition to Michelin’s stable of performance road tyres and promises to be a well-balanced choice for riders who like to race and those who enjoy long endurance rides.
Michelin says the Pro 5’s new tubeless-ready casing design and Gum-X compound combine to deliver an impressive 35% decrease in rolling resistance over the outgoing Pro 4.
The new casing has been designed to improve the airtightness and to make it easier to mount to the rim. The Michelin Pro 5 is compatible with both hooked and hookless rims.
The new Michelin Pro 5 is available in 28, 30, 32, and 35mm widths and costs $99 at retail.

Trek Checkpoint + e-bike
Trek has released its first-ever dedicated electric gravel bike, the Checkpoint+ SL, which combines the original Checkpoint gravel bike with a motor.
The new bike’s 360Wh battery can provide a range of up to 80km, and a range extender (which sits in the drink cage) can be added to go further. Trek says the TQ HPR60 motor is lightweight, quiet, and has a natural-feeling assist.
With 50mm tyre clearance and the suspension fork (on all sizes except XS), the new model is comfortable on gravel terrain. The geometry that puts users in a more upright riding position also contributes to the comfort, but allows riders greater control on gravel.

PRO Stealth 3D saddle
PRO has launched a 3D-printed version of its most popular saddle, the Stealth, which has been updated with a 3D-printed upper.
The saddle retains its design, facilitating an aggressive, aerodynamic position on the bike and a broad anatomic fit recess.
The goal in creating the new 3D-printer version is to increase comfort. The saddle retains the same baseplate shape, and a new 3D-printed upper is designed with the most efficient pressure distribution zones.
The 3D-printed design consists of three different padding thicknesses and densities, maximising the contact area and equalising the pressure.

Muc-Off Big Bore Lite tubeless valves
The new Muc-Off Big Bore Valve range is part of a high-air-flow tubeless tyre system with a ‘straight-through’ internal design, so there are no clogs.
Featuring an integrated ball valve system, the valve ensures fast airflow and turbocharges the sealant filling process. Thanks to the straight-through bore design, the new Big Bore Lite offers up to 230% higher air flow than traditional Presta valves.
With a ball valve construction and integrated lever, users can quickly open and close the valve for airflow control and even fine-tune the pressure while out riding.
The retail price is $89.99.

Scott Addict
The new Scott Addict is designed to be more comfortable and versatile than its predecessor. Scott claims it is twice as comfortable as the outgoing model and 25% more comfortable than the Addict RC.
To increase comfort, the product development team at Scott has reshaped various frame tubes. The seat and top tubes are slimmer to promote vertical compliance, while seat stays are lower than on the previous Addict model to further dampen the ride.
Following the trend towards wider tyres, the clearance has increased to accommodate tyre widths up to 38mm. The larger tyres also improve comfort and lower rolling resistance.
Another addition is the integrated repair kit in the downtube located near the bottom bracket. Scott says that by positioning it low on the frame, they’ve kept added weight to a minimum and optimised the Addict’s centre of gravity.

New Trek Aeolus saddles with AirLoom lattice technology
Trek Bicycle has released its all-new Aeolus saddles, now featuring AirLoom lattice technology. With multiple fit and construction options, the Aeolus lineup helps riders find the right saddle to suit their anatomy or budget.
Trek says the weave of matrices delivers more flexible support for the sit bones under sensitive soft tissues. The lattice moves slightly with the rider to reduce friction, making it more comfortable, particularly for long rides. It also has a narrower nose and narrower transition, developed with the assistance of pro feedback and pressure-mapping technology, to help lessen friction.
Aeolus RSL AirLoom has full carbon rails and shell and is available in 135, 145 (weighs 164g), and 155mm widths. Aeolus Pro AirLoom has full carbon rails and a carbon-composite shell with lattice technology and is available in 145 (170g) and 155mm widths. The Aeolus Elite AirLoom has lattice padding over a nylon-composite shell with austenite rails and is available in 135, 145, or 155mm widths.

RockShox Rudy XL fork
For gravel riders who are looking for extra suspension on those rougher trails, RockShox has released a new Rudy XL fork with up to 60mm of travel.
But this isn’t a pared-down fork designed for a mountain bike. RockShox says they created the Rudy range from the ground up with gravel riding in mind. The company also says the new fork provides enhanced capability, control, and comfort, thanks to its large 2.25-inch tyre clearance and stiff chassis.
After two years of development, Rudy XL has an updated Charger Race Day 2 damper that is tuned to stay firm on fast sections and composed when the terrain turns unpredictable. RockShox says it delivers less fatigue, more precision, and a smoother, more confident ride.
