Tested: iGPSPORT Front light & radar tail light

Alongside testing the iGPSPORT BiNavi bike computer, I rode with their VS1200S Smart Front Light and SR Mini Radar Tail Light for several months. Released together in early 2025, these lights form part of iGPSPORT’s connected ecosystem, designed to enhance safety, visibility, and convenience – all controllable via the BiNavi head unit or the iGPSPORT mobile app.

First impressions

Out of the box, both lights feel solid and compact. The SR Mini tail light is surprisingly small and lightweight (just 50 grams), yet impressively bright. The VS1200S is sleek but noticeably heavier at 160 grams. With a 1200-lumen output and a large 5,000mAh battery, the extra weight is to be expected.

Like the BiNavi, both lights feature a half-turn mounting system that feels secure while allowing quick installation and removal. The front light comes with a standard handlebar mount plus an attachment for out-front mounts, while the rear light includes both seatpost and saddle rail mounts. The out-front and saddle rail options have a sleek, streamlined setup.

The SR Mini also features a radar sensor that detects vehicles approaching from behind, sending timely visual and audio alerts straight to the BiNavi – or your head unit of choice. It’s great to finally see a lot of brands embracing radar technology, as it significantly improves safety on busy roads and in low-visibility conditions.

Smart integration & control

What’s particularly impressive about these lights is their integration with the BiNavi bike computer and iGPSPORT mobile app. You can easily adjust brightness levels, switch flash modes, and check battery status directly from the BiNavi’s touchscreen – even down to the number of hours and minutes remaining on each setting. This level of control makes on-the-fly adjustments effortless, intuitive, and safe, without needing to take your hands off the handlebars.

Performance

The 1200-lumen beam from the VS1200S makes riding in any condition noticeably safer. The light offers a good balance of distance and width, cutting through darkness effectively with a broad beam. Switching between the various settings was hassle-free using the BiNavi or the mobile app, with no need to touch the light once it was powered on.

The SR Mini rear light was surprisingly bright for its size, offering multiple flash modes to suit different riding conditions. The radar feature proved reliably accurate, with timely alerts. It can track up to eight cars at once, giving you a real-time visualisation of the hazards behind you. Testing it out in low-visibility conditions impressed me with its consistent performance.

The battery life on both lights comfortably covers multiple medium-distance rides, and the aforementioned connectivity with the BiNavi and mobile app made it easy to monitor battery levels.

While the SR Mini is compatible with other head unit brands, the VS1200S seems to offer wireless connectivity only to the BiNavi or your mobile phone.

Final thoughts

The SR Mini holds its own against far more expensive radar lights on the market, while the VS1200S allows for great visibility even in the worst of conditions. Individually, the VS1200S Smart Front Light and SR Mini Radar Tail Light are both impressive products, but together, they form a smart, integrated, user-friendly lighting system easily controlled by the BiNavi.

For cyclists already using the BiNavi, this setup is a no-brainer. But even as standalone options, the SR Mini and VS1200S prove that iGPSPORT is positioning itself as a leader in the cycling tech space.
