The Giro d’Italia 2025 lived up to expectations with an exciting race that wasn’t decided until Stage 20. Simon Yates took the ultimate prize of the Maglia Rosa after his show of strength on the penultimate stage, enthralling us all.

Somewhat overshadowed, but no less impressive, was Jayco-AlUla’s Chris Harper winning the same stage with a solo break of 1’49”. It was Harper’s first Grand Tour victory and his first win in almost six years. It was the team’s second stage win for the event. Bravo Harps.
Harper said of the win, “I definitely wasn’t expecting it. I wasn’t sure how it was going to go today as I was up the road yesterday and I didn’t really have the legs. I also thought maybe today would be a big battle with the GC guys and the break wouldn’t arrive anyway. I got away with a big group, and I just tried to be smart. I gave it 100 percent, and I hoped I could hold on.”

A special mention also goes to Aussie Michael Storer of the Tudor Pro Cycling team, who finished in tenth spot in the GC competition.
