Giro D’Italia visits Albania 2025

The opening three stages of this year’s Giro d’Italia have been run and won in Albania, and the peloton and their entourages are now on their way to Italy.

Dane Mads Pedersen proved himself to be the dominant rider in the sprints, but he also showed his ITT prowess and capability to get over hills to be ready to sprint.

The most extraordinary moment so far was when Kiwi rider Dion Smith of Intermarché-Wanty took on a goat in Stage 3 and won. The goat looked set to ‘buck’ him off, but luckily for him, it continued on its way without causing any injury.

Here’s a gallery of images from our friend Stefano Sirroti of the first three stages. The highlight of the ITT was definitely the array of amazing helmets!!

Onwards to Alberobello.
