Giant and Liv announce revamped flagship gravel bikes

After teasing prototypes at Unbound Gravel, Giant and Liv have officially pulled the covers off their all-new race-ready gravel bikes: the Giant Revolt Advanced SL and Liv Devote Advanced SL.

While previous versions of both bikes balanced racing with bikepacking and adventure riding, these latest models have a much sharper focus.

Giant says its aim was to build the fastest gravel race bikes possible.

Although aimed at different riders, the Revolt and Devote share the same advanced carbon construction, manufacturing techniques and overall design philosophy.

Weight

Weight is a major focus with the new bikes. Giant says the new Revolt Advanced SL is the lightest gravel bike it has ever produced, with the flagship Revolt Advanced SL 0 coming in a claimed 288g lighter than the previous model, despite running today’s wider gravel tyres.

The frame and fork alone shed 176g thanks to an updated high-modulus carbon construction, refined moulding techniques and a revised carbon layup designed to improve stiffness and ride consistency.

Weight savings also extend beyond the frame. The top-spec model rolls on Giant’s new Cadex Max GXR carbon wheelset, which is claimed to save a further 118g over the previous generation while also delivering aerodynamic benefits.

Geometry

Speaking of aero, Giant has clearly borrowed plenty from its road racing playbook. The new frame uses revised tube profiles developed through extensive wind tunnel testing, while the one-piece Contact SLR XR integrated handlebar reduces frontal area and creates a cleaner, stiffer front end.

Even the new 50mm-deep Cadex wheels and matching 45mm tyres were designed together as a complete system to minimise drag.

Geometry has also received a thorough overhaul. The new Revolt adopts a lower front end, longer reach and steeper seat tube angle to place riders in a more aggressive racing position.

Frame sizing runs from XS to XL, with clearance for tyres up to 53mm, giving riders plenty of flexibility for everything from fast gravel races to rougher backcountry events.

Although the Giant Revolt and Liv Devote target different riders, both bikes share the same advanced carbon manufacturing process, integrated design philosophy and performance-first approach.

Liv continues to tailor the Devote with brand-specific sizing and cockpit dimensions while delivering similar weight and aerodynamic gains.

The new models are available now in Australia in three build options.

The range starts at $8,999 AUD, climbs to $9,999 AUD for the mid-spec SL 1, and peaks at $13,999 AUD for the range-topping SL 0 on both the Giant Revolt Advanced SL and Liv Devote Advanced SL.
