  • Where a “road legal” e-bike can be anything between a slightly heavy conventional bike with electric motor assist and what, to all intents and purposes, is an electric motor scooter limited to 6 km/h in “throttle mode” and where the motor assist cuts out at 25 km/h I don’t see the point in what the ACCC is attempting to achieve.
    If the intention to ban everyone under 16 from riding any bicycle on road — I’d rate the ACCC’s attempt at regulation an abject FAIL. We want people under 16 to be able to ride motor assisted bicycles.
