A good article on Jack Ward but no mention of the winner Daan Dijkman. Seems like a fairly big omission.
Thanks Nicola. There seems to be a lot of good options priced more competitively. I use a Flextail Mini Pump Pro that I purchased for around $110 (with first purchase discounts etc) and it is great. But there are a number of others. One word of warning that wasn’t mentioned in your article. If you are using TPU tubes it is essential to use the extension hose otherwise the heat from the pump will melt the plastic valve.
I have used the Seasucker Mini Bomber for over 10 years on my Volkswagen EOS (hard top convertible). It is fantastic. I have driven from Sydney to Kingscliff, Mudgee, Canberra etc with no issues. I have even taken them overseas to use on hire cars on trips through Italy and France. Most hesitancy in using this technology is based on a lack of understanding of how good it is and the level of redundancy built into the racks. For instance, my Mini Bomber has 4 suction gaps however it would still definitely hold two bikes with only 3 of the four suction gaps.
I have owned a Bossi Strada SS since September 23 and I love it. My other bike is a Specialised S-Works Tarmac Ultralight 2017 and while the difference in weight is significant the other benefits described by Harry mean the Bossi is my go to bike in most situations. It has toured the Pyrenees, Provence, Tasmania, Japan and is just about to take on the North Island of NZ. A great bike and excellent service from James and Peter.
