China Invest in Graphene Industrialisation

The Chinese Government’s official press agency has reported that the country is working on developing a platform for international and domestic collaboration of the wonder material, Graphene.

Already used by Vittoria in their new range of wheelsets and their tyres spotted at the Taipei Bike Show this year, Graphene is said to be 100 stronger than the strongest steel and on a molecular level takes on a honeycomb lattice shape made of carbon atoms. Read more about how Vittoria uses Graphene here.

Vittoria currently holds distribution rights to a number of countries of pristine graphene nanoplatelets.

The China International Graphene Industry Union will be a non-governmental organisation to be set up by September and according to China’s national press agency, “It will be a platform for international and domestic cooperation among businesses, researchers and financial institutions.” The agency quoted the union’s first director-general Zhang Jingan who said this at a preparatory meeting last week.

The director-general also said that the China International Graphene Industry Union will set evaluation and quality standards for the industry and lay the foundation for research and business development, and help commercialise research findings.

China is one of the most graphite-rich countries and a leader in the industrialisation of Graphene.
