Dauphine: Porte Leaves Froome For Dust On Alpe D’Huez

Richie Porte retained the lead of the Criterium du Dauphine and increased his buffer over Chris Froome on Stage 7 at Alpe d’Huez overnight.

A dejected looking Froome simply couldn’t hold Richie’s pace as the 32yo Aussie gave his all on the final 2km of the iconic climb. Britain’s Peter Kennaugh of Team Sky claimed the stage, riding away from the breakaway group.
