Friedrichshafen, Germany: ‘The world isn’t flat; now, neither is your ride.’ That’s the catchphrase of one of the most exciting new products Bicycling Australia saw at EuroBike in Germany today, the KICKR CLIMB.
Designed to take KICKR indoor trainers to the next level by adding physical grade changes of up to 20% to stationary rides, the CLIMB simply locks in place of the front wheel to provide the most realistic indoor training system to date.
With a high speed internal worm drive motor receiving ANT+ signals from the latest model KICKR and SNAP trainers, the CLIMB quickly raises and lowers your bike to match climbing gradients of up to 20% and descents down to -10%.
Use it with popular indoor training platforms such as Zwift and courses will feel more realistic than ever as grade changes are made in real time.

The KICKR CLIMB also features a manual override so it can be used as a standalone trainer without virtual online platforms.
“The KICKR CLIMB physically adjusts your bike position to mimic real roads and mountain climbing,” according to the company. “This allows you to naturally change position on the bike, engage climbing muscles, and improve pedaling technique while indoors, to become a more efficient and powerful climber outdoors.”
KICKR CLIMB has been specifically designed to work with the 2017 editions of the new KICKR and KICKR SNAP smart trainers. It is expected to be available on the Australian market over coming months for a recommended retail price of $749.95.
