Giro d’Italia: Onwards to Rome

The Giro continued to deliver great racing this week, and although we missed the excitement of more Aussie stage wins, it was still superb to watch.

On the ITT of Stage 10, with the famous leaning tower as a backdrop in Pisa, three Aussies finished in the top 10: Jay Vine in 6th, Luke Plapp in 7th, and Michael Hepburn in 9th.

Kaden Groves also continued to be in contention with a 5th place on Stage 12 and a second place on Stage 14. This puts him in 6th place in the Ciclamino (points) jersey competition.

On GC, we have one Aussie in the top 20, with Michael Storer in 12th place as of Sunday’s completion of Stage 15.

There’s a feeling that the GC competition is just getting going as we start the third and decisive week in this exciting edition of the Giro d’Italia.

Here are some highlights of Stages 10 to 15 from our friend Stefano Sirotti following the race.
