The Santos Tour Down Under has finally announced the return of its popular mass participation ride that runs in conjunction with the professional racing in Adelaide in January.
Amateur riders will be able to tackle Stage 3 of the men’s Tour Down Under race from Norwood to Uraidla on Thursday, 23 January, ahead of the professional peloton.
Called the Adelaide Epic Ride, participants can choose from three distance options – 20 km, 85 km or 120 km of the Stage 3 route. It covers some of South Australia’s iconic cycling terrain, starting in Norwood and winding through the Adelaide Hills. Riders will experience a mix of fast flats and gruelling climbs as they pass through Balhannah, Hahndorf, Lenswood and Ashton before finishing up in Uraidla.
