The Noosa Classic is back with the fourth edition of the Sunshine’s Coast’s premier Gran Fondo on this Sunday, August 14.
Gaining a reputation as Queensland’s finest Gran Fondo, the popular event will cater for all riders – from keen amateurs to top-level pros.
The 2021 Noosa Classic was run as a Queensland-only event. This year riders from around Australia will be thrilled to be able to return to Noosa to not only enjoy stunning cycling but the best the iconic holiday and tourism destination has to offer. Additionally, like in previous years, riders from places further afield such as New Zealand, Asia and Europe are expected to sign up for the event + enjoy a dream bike break in Noosa.
The 2022 Noosa Classic is supported by the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland and features on the It’s Live! in Queensland events calendar.
Registration is still possible – just head to the Event Village at Sir Thomas Riley Park in Tewantin to register on Saturday afternoon or early on Sunday.
The August event will feature three courses – the 65km ‘Rouleurs Classics’, 120km Challenge Classic and the big one – the 160km Maxi Classic. All courses have been painstakingly designed to offer the best of the pristine Noosa region. From the subtropical coast to the rich and lush Hinterland, riders will enjoy the best of greater Noosa.
Like many fellow cyclists from the southern states, Classics Founder James Yaffa can’t wait to enjoy Queensland’s warm winter and again ride the Noosa region.
“We are truly excited to be heading back to Noosa for the fourth Noosa Classic,” he said.
“And this year’s event will be particularly significant with interstate and overseas riders able to again travel to ‘the Sunshine State’. To imagine close to 2000 riders back together – after such a tumultuous period that we’ve all been through over the past few years – the 2022 Noosa Classic will offer riders, sponsors, locals and supporters a real reason to celebrate.”
