Video: Daria Pikulik Outsprints The Best To Win Opening Stage Of Women’s TDU

Polish pro rider Daria Pikulik has sprinted to victory in the opening stage of the Women’s Tour Down Under held near Adelaide today.

Starting in seaside Glenelg and finishing down the coast at Aldinga Beach, the women’s race took in stunning coastal vistas and the picturesque McClaren Vale wine region.

The final minute of racing with Polish rider Daria Pikulik crossing the line to win Stage 1 of the Women’s Tour Down Under.

After 110km in the saddle, the 26yo Human Powered Health rider made the beachside sprint finale look easy, sitting up to coast over the line ahead of Clara Copponi (FDJ Suez Futurescope) and Georgia Baker (AUS/Team Jayco-AlUla).

Pikulik will wear the Ochre Leader’s Jersey into Stage 2 of the race, the 90km from Birdwood to Uraidla.
