In this gallery – that’s guaranteed to get any BMC fan drooling – we take a look at the race bikes of two of the hardest hitting men of the peloton, Richie Porte & Greg Van Avermaet.
With Porte currently sitting in 5th overall at the Tour de France, the Tasmanian is 39 seconds behind leader Chris Froome of Team Sky. All eyes will be on Porte as le Tour heads to the hills on Saturday’s Stage 6, from Dole to Station Des Rousses.
“I’m still happy with my ride for the first mountain stage – I kind of expected a little more but there’s a long way to go,” Porte said after the first high country stage of this year’s event, Stage 5 that finished at La Planche Des Belles Filles.
“Chris Froome is obviously going stronger than when we saw him at the last race,” Porte added. “But I think Team Sky weren’t quite what they were last year. Still, I think they have a lot of pressure coming up.”
The bikes are the recently released BMC SLR01 Team Machines fitted with Shimano Dura Ace 9150, Vittoria Corsa tyres and SRM power meters. Images were taken prior to the start of Stage 3 of the 2017 Tour de France in Verviers, Belgium.
