First impressions
The first thing that struck me when picking up the Litelok X1 was the weight. At just under 1.7 kg, it’s not feather-light, and you’ll notice that compared to some slimmer locks. But the second you hold it, you get why – this lock is a serious piece of kit. It’s purpose-built to make your bike almost impossible to steal – even with an angle grinder.
The X1 is built for commuter and cargo bikes, where protection matters more than grams.

Angle-grinder proof
This isn’t just another heavy U-lock with a fancy name. The X1 is made with Barronium®, a ceramic-steel composite designed to blunt grinder discs. Paired with hardened high-tensile steel, the lock not only resists attacks but actively fights back.
It carries Sold Secure Diamond ratings for bicycles and motorcycles and ART4 certification – accolades that don’t come lightly.
Put simply: if someone tries to steal your bike with an angle grinder, they won’t succeed.
Design details
For all that toughness, the X1 isn’t just a block of steel. The outer layer is a plant-based eco-rubber that protects your frame and gives the lock a nice, grippy feel.
A self-sealing silicone keyhole cover keeps out water and grit, so the mechanism stays smooth, and reflective strips add a small safety bonus at night.
The internal dimensions (101 × 196mm) are generous enough to lock through the frame and a wheel, which is useful for most urban locking situations.
The Tactical Mount
The Tactical Mount is purpose-built for the X1. Its glass-reinforced polymer body and rubber frame protectors keep the lock stable at all times. The “lock and load” system clicks the X1 into place with ease, and even riding over rougher roads, the lock doesn’t budge or rattle.
Mounting a nearly 2kg lock can be awkward with generic holders, but Litelok nailed it here – the Tactical Mount made daily use of the X1 practical.

Final thoughts
The Litelok X1 and Tactical Mount combo is for commuter and cargo cyclists who take security seriously. With bikes costing as much as some cars these days, keeping them safe and secure has never been more important.
If you want peace of mind from knowing your lock is tougher than the tools most thieves carry, the X1 is one of the best options. Add the Tactical Mount, and the unit nicely integrates into your bike.
