Bicycling Australia Strava Club Snowy Classic Climbing Challenge Winners

As Australia’s ‘Summer of Cycling’ slowly draws to an end, many of us can think back to some fantastic rides and have wonderful memories of the past 6 weeks or so.

Many may still be feeling the sting in their legs after some epic climbing, particularly the four winners of the Bicycling Australia Strava Club’s Snowy Classic Climbing Challenge held over the summer break.

To be held on April 1 this year, our second annual Snowy Classic will feature two courses, the 110km Challenge Classic with 1400 meters of climbing, and the 170km Maxi Classic with the equivalent of a huge 2800 metres straight up!

Standing in great steed to take on the Snowy Classic’s alpine elevation are the winners who are –

* Deb Taylor of the Gold Coast who climbed more than 24,400m.

* Lachie Harrigan who is based in Sydney and hails from Jindabyne. No stranger to putting himself in the hurt locker, Lachie amassed over 25,000m over the summer break.

Our Publisher’s Choice winners put in some super impressive efforts and they are –

* Karen Evans of Moss Vale, who climbed more than 23,000m, a phenomenal effort.

* And young Jett Hamilton, a 15yo from the Blue Mountains who consistently logs some serious vertical metres.

Congratulations to all winners – we encourage you to get in touch ASAP to claim your prizes – a Black Sheep Classics jersey and an annual subscription to Bicycling Australia magazine.
