First Look: Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 SL

Carrying the likes of Valverde, Quintana and Rodriguez to international prominence, Canyon is well represented in the upper echelons of racing but has rarely been seen in Australia. We took the chance to get acquainted with their top end Aeroad.

At low speeds and under light braking the wheels make a whirring, whining noise which actually sounds kind of cool. However when braking hard, the Mavics shriek alarmingly.

The fork has a neat surprise in the dropouts which each house an off centre alloy yoke. You can remove and reverse the yokes from the stock position if you prefer to speed up the steering response.

The Aeroad’s short headtube and Canyon’s H11 cockpit with integrated bar / stem combo and the cleanliness of hidden cables (and even hidden Di2 junction box) all add to the fast look.
