As the 2016 road season on the professional circuit warms up there have been some great results for some deserving athletes, here is a short recap of the finishing results from the start of the season.

This puts Peter Kennaugh in the yellow leaders jersey heading into tomorrow’s stage. Froome and Kennaugh worked together in the final push to the line to go one-two for Team Sky.

In a tight dash to the finish, Marcel Kittel proved he trained hard in the off season and was able to outsprint the field after a fantastic leadout by his new team mates at Etixx-Quick Step. Kittel will wear yellow in the next stage.

Peter Kennaugh brought home Team Sky’s first win for 2016 after an explosive solo break away on the last lap of the Geelong circuit. He bridged to Lotto-Soudal rider Rafa Valls and kept on driving past him in the final 12km of the race as the splintered field tried to pace back the leader. Young local Leigh Howard won the bunch sprint with Niccolo Bonifazio a close third.
