Sarah Hammond, Australia’s Trans Am Bike Race Entrant

Currently completing her 17th day of the Trans Am Bike Race, Melbourne’s Sarah Hammond has covered over 3400 miles (5500 kilometers) of American soil as she takes on the 4440 mile (7145.5 kilometer) Trans American Trail from Western Oregon travelling east through 10 states to Yorktown, Virginia.

The Trans Am Bike Race is a showdown on the open road and a completely self-sufficient race completed by any hardcore bike tourer. 

Hammond currently sits in second place in the womens category and sixth overall. Track her progress live right here.
