TDU Stage 6 – Adelaide City Street Circuit

Today’s final 90km stage of the 2017 Santos Tour Down Under brings the peloton to the people as the pros race a rocket-paced 4.5km street circuit through downtown Adelaide.

For a third successive year final stage hostilities will take place around a street circuit just north of Adelaide’s city centre. With the start/ finish line on King William Rd, the surrounding parklands will provide many fantastic vantage points for fans and supporters. The racing starts at 1:30pm.

Caleb Ewan is the obvious best-placed rider for victory, can the pint-sized Orica-Scott sprinter win today and make a clean sweep  of every sprint stage of this year’s tour?

Nathan Haas 3rd Overall

Eyes will also be on fellow Aussie Jay McCarthy, 2016 stage winner and previous young rider jersey winner. Jay (Bora-Hansgrohe) is just 3-seconds behind countryman Nathan Haas (Team Dimension Data) who yesterday moved into third overall on General Classification.

Sensational action is assured on this high-speed grand finale of the 2017 Tour Down Under. For the latest reports, photos, videos and highlights of the action check out the Bicycling Australia Facebook page.

We’ll have a full wrap of today’s stage along with an overall 2017 race review here on the website later today.
