Tour de France Gallery: Fraile Wins In Mendes As Thomas, Froome & Dumoulin Retain Top Three

Spanish rider Omar Fraile of Astana enjoyed a thrilling win on the Mende airstrip at the  conclusion of Stage 14 of the Tour de France.

Despite a late move by stage favourite Julian Alaphilippe, the Frenchman in the polka dot jersey failed in his quest to come across to the Basque rider who scored Astana’s 13th stage victory in the Tour de France and his personal first. His Spanish compatriots Serrano and Rodriguez also claimed their first Tour de France victories in Mende.

Geraint Thomas remains race leader with Chris Froome second at +1:39 and Tom Dumoulin third at +1:50. A rest day today, then the final week in the Pyrenees for Team Sky to fulfil formalities … or Tom Dumoulin to upset the party?
