Reigning two-time World Champion Julian Alaphilippe has been confirmed to ride the Wollongong World Championships.
There were concerns the winner of the 2020 & 2021 rainbow jersey may not be ready to ride after he crashed out of the Vuelta a España and dislocated his shoulder earlier this month.
Alaphilippe will make his way to Wollongong with the rest of the French team that include Romain Bardet, Christophe Laporte, Quentin Pacher, Florian Sénéchal, Pavel Sivakov, Rémi Cavagna and Bruno Armirail.
One of the top favourites to win the race – and a third consecutive rainbow jersey – Alaphilippe won the title in 2020 in Imola, Italy and in Leuven, Belgium in 2021.
