Women’s TDU: Chloe Hosking Sprints To Stage 1 Victory

Aussie sprint sensation Chloe Hosking has continued with her winning ways after enjoying a victory at Stage 1 of the Women’s Tour Down Under today.

Riding for her new team Rally, and just a week after winning the Australian criterium championship in Ballarat, Hosking timed the flat sprint finish perfectly to win the stage and be first to wear the Ochre Jersey for 2020.

Paulina Henttala of Trek Segafredo finished second, with Melbourne’s Matilda Raynolds of Specialized Women’s Racing – a rider who balances a fulltime career with top-level racing – enjoying the brilliant success of placing third.

“It feels great and I’m trading one orange jersey for another now,” Hosking said after the win.

“I’m super stoked. It means a lot that the team’s come over here to support me and the girls were incredible today. I’m really pleased I can already give them back a UCI win and a great start to the year for Rally Cycling.”
