Shimano have released a range of new footwear. Shown here are the R133L, the R191L, R241b and women’s specific shoes, the WR82 and the WR61.
The R133 is a serious level shoe that uses scratch resistant, reinforced fabrics and breathable mesh on the upper, with ratchet closure and offset Velcro straps. The carbon sole is built to a curved, anatomical last. These weigh 324g for a size 42.
The R241b’s are an interesting combination of black and blue. We’ve seen plenty of bikes in this colour scheme, so why not shoes? There’s an attractive 12k weave on the sole and they also have the familiar smell of a Clarke’s Rubber store. The size 41 shown here weigh 285g each.
The R191 also uses a carbon sole and has a textile mesh upper for maximum ventilation. Like many of Shimano’s shoes it has a carbon sole and offset Velcro straps. The size 43 shown here weighed exactly 300g.
Shimano also do a range of women’s specific shoes. The WR-82 has a vinyl upper, silver mesh for ventilation and a carbon sole. The WR-61 has a similar upper but with a nylon sole. It is slightly heavier, weighing in at 328g for the size 40, while the WR-82 is just 255g.
