2017 Santos Tour Down Under Provisional Start List

It’s the first race of the 2017 UCI WorldTour calendar and all top tier teams will be in Adelaide for the Tour Down Under which starts on Sunday.

With two-time World Champion Peter Sagan arguably the major drawcard for the event now in it’s 19th year, the rider list from the 18 teams reads like a who’s who of cycling.

Among the Aussies is 4-time race winner Simon Gerrans along with Orica-Scott teammates Caleb Ewan, Luke Durbridge and Damian Howson. Richie Porte, Rohan Dennis and newly crowned Australian National Champion Miles Scotson will be lining up for BMC Racing.

We are sure to see some action from Mark Renshaw, Nathan Haas and Lachlan Morton of team Dimension Data. Cannondale-Drapac’s Will Clarke, Simon Clarke and particularly Brendan Canty will be popular – the young rider who was famously riding D grade 4 years ago.

The UniSA-Australia team will have nothing to lose and everything to gain – expect to see riders from that tight squad make the most of their golden opportunity to race at the ultimate level.

The start list is provisional with teams expected to make updates over coming days –
