Scicon Sports may be better known for their range of specialist cycling travel goods, but the company are increasingly active in numerous other sectors of the sport.
In addition to bikebags, shoe, washing and gear bags, travel luggage, backpacks and saddle packs, Scicon offer a range of kit including their very impressive X-over bibshorts.
The company also manufacture a range of cycling-specific eyewear, and have recently added two new models to the lineup.
Scicon say their new Aerowing and Aeroshade models have been developed with vision-enhancing engineering and deliver the latest innovation and technology to improve performance.
The Aeroshade features a frame equipped with what the company have dubbed a ‘Horizon Adapt’ mechanism – a height-adjustable nose pad allowing riders to tailor the field of vision depending on their preferred riding position.
Though Bicycling Australia have not yet tested the new models, that raised bridge on the Aeroshade model – coupled with the height adjustability – sure looks to be an interesting and impressive inclusion. Couple that wide field of vision with the old school design, and the Aeroshade combines a hint of retro styling with the latest in glass and frame technologies.
The Aerowing
Launched alongside the Aeroshade, the company have also launched the new Aerowing. This model matches that throwback retro look while incorporating wide vision and complete protection. The large lens shape features a laser-etched finish and places what could be described as a rimless cylindrical shield on the face.
The design also incorporates a vented brow construction to allow for increased airflow and therefore far less fogging.
The Aerowing features an interchangeable lens system, interchangeable nose pads (each with a double click mechanism for a close custom fit to the face) and adjustable temple tips to ensure a wrapped feel.
