The Tour de Office is back again for 2016.
Held on August 22 – 26 in Sydney and Melbourne and September 5 – 9 in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to raise funds for worthy charities, participants of the challenge are encouraged to cycle on static bikes set up in the office for half hour stints.
The aim of the week-long event is to raise funds and awareness of chronic diseases caused by prolonged periods of sitting.
Last year over $200,000 were raised for charities like Diabetes Queensland and the Cancer Council.
A live stream and online leaderboards make the challenge interactive and introduce a bit of friendly competition.
Cycling is being dubbed the new golf of the corporate world and the Tour de Office is encouraging new organisations to join and ride alongside some 3,000 other participants to reach their goal of a quarter-of-a-million dollars this year.
