Team Sky Rider Chris Froome has increased his overall lead in this year’s Tour de France after posting the fastest time in the Stage 18 Individual Time Trial.
Froome finished the technical course in 30:43, a time which extended his overall lead to put him 3 minutes and 52seconds ahead of second placed Bauke Mollama of Trek- Segafredo.
Australian podium hopeful Richie Porte started the challenging uphill event extremely well, posting the fastest time at the first checkpoint. However things slowed for Porte and he went on to finish in 31:16.
The result saw Richie Porte place 4th on the stage. He remains in 6th position overall just 44 seconds behind Adam Yates who holds third.
