VIDEO: Velon Announce 8 Teams Will Provide On-Board Camera Action From Abu Dhabi Tour

Cycling fans are assured of plenty of on-bike close-up action at this year’s Abu Dhabi Tour with 8 Velon teams confirmed for the WorldTour event.

Velon, a technology collective made up of 11 pro-cycling teams, focus on giving fans an inside view of the sport via on-bike cameras, race data and other cutting edge technology such as video flyovers of stage routes.

The group have become well known for producing fast-paced and thrilling video highlights packages from the world’s top cycling races.

Alberto Contador, Greg Van Avermaet and Andre Greipel, are among big name Velon team riders to ride the forthcoming tour, along with Team Sky’s Olympic Omnium champion, Elia Viviani, Lampre-Merida’s 2015 Giro d’Italia stage winner, Diego Ulissi, Orica-BikeExchange’s 2016 Paris-Nice sprint champion, Michael Matthews, Giant-Alpecin’s sprint and classics specialist, John Degenkolb, and Trek-Segafredo’s winner of the 2015 and 2016 Giro d’Italia Points classifications, Giacomo Nizzolo.

The second Abu Dhabi Tour will held from the 20th to 23rd October. Bicycling Australia will bring reports and Velon video highlights of the action.
