Fizik has rolled out an update to its off-road race shoe, with the new Ferox 2 Carbon aimed squarely at XC and gravel riders.
The second-generation model brings a reshaped fit and a reworked sole, reflecting how modern riding positions and terrain have evolved. One of the key tweaks is a flatter platform, with reduced heel drop and more room through the toe box.
The idea is that a more natural foot position helps with comfort and efficiency on longer rides, while also giving riders a bit more control in technical sections.
The closure setup sticks with a Powerstrap and BOA Li2 dial combo, but with some refinements. The strap has been redesigned to better wrap the foot and spread pressure more evenly, while the BOA dial up front allows for quick, precise adjustments mid-ride.

Inside, there is a sock-like liner made from perforated Airprene, designed to hug the foot and cut down on friction. Up top, the shoe uses a mix of mesh and PU reinforcements to balance airflow and durability, with a water-resistant finish to help keep weight in check when conditions turn messy.
Underneath, the carbon sole has been reshaped with a wider platform and lower profile. Fizik says this improves stability on the pedal and delivers a more direct feel when putting power down.
A full rubber tread adds grip for the inevitable off-bike moments.

The Ferox 2 Carbon comes in at a claimed 295g, with sizes from 36 to 48, including half sizes. Pricing is set at €329 ($549 AUD), with three colour options available.
