Helmet specialists MET have significantly updated their mid-range road helmet, the Rivale.
Aero-optimised and MIPS-equipped, the new helmet is said to offer ‘superior performance and an aggressive presence to leave a lasting impression’.
Bicycling Australia are yet to take a hands on review of the helmet but via launch notes the Rivale is claimed to offer an increased level of safety along with extra comfort and better efficiency.
The helmet boasts a range of impressive features including the aero outer shaping, internal air channels, 18 vents, reflective rear decals, gel padded head support and washable comfort pads. The front ports are optimised to vent airflow while securely holding sunglasses, and the rear of the helmet is ponytail compatible.
Now featuring MIPS technology, the Rivale includes the advantages of the brain protection system that helps limit against rotational forces in the event of an impact. In addition, MET say the incorporated 360° head belt ensures there are no pressure points on the skull for extra comfort.
The Rivale has an Australian RRP of $250 and will be available in three sizes:
Small: (52/56 cm) 240grams
Medium: (56/58cm) 250 grams
Large (58/61cm) 270grams
MET Helmets updated Rivale will be available from October.
