Polar Power Pedals

Polar Power Pedals were first unveiled at Eurobike last year but we were able to get a good look at them in the flesh at Melbourne’s Ausbike. Currently compatible with Polar CS600, CS600X and CS500 cycling computers the power pedals have eight embedded gauges inside a Look Keo pedal spindal. These relay information to the computers showing power in watts of your left and right leg and also your optimum cadence. Once installed calibration takes about 10 seconds and you’re ready to ride. The ease of installation means you can swap it easily between bikes. Similar to Garmin’s Vector system you can view on the bike or wirelessly download data to your computer using Polar’s Pro Trainer 5 software system

At this stage Power Pedals are due to hit the market in either December or January. Expect to pay between $2,000 and $2,500.
