Founded in 2022 by Sydney riders Lachlan Brewin Higgins and Cameron Evans, Caffeine & Cranks has quickly established itself as a locally driven apparel brand focused on clean design, solid performance and approachable pricing.
The pitch is simple – premium kit without the premium European price tag – and after spending time in the Pinnacle range, it largely delivers.
Designed in Australia and shipped locally, the range focuses on quality fabrics, understated styling and comfort on the bike.
First impressions
Straight out of the box, the Pinnacle range makes a good first impression. The styling is clean and minimal, without oversized logos or loud graphics trying too hard to stand out.
Fit-wise, it leans toward that modern performance cut, but without feeling overly restrictive. The jersey sits close through the torso, while the bibs are supportive without being excessively compressive.
Riders familiar with brands like MAAP or Rapha will feel pretty comfortable here, although the fit is slightly more forgiving for longer days in the saddle.
The fabrics are another highlight. Both the jersey and bibs use breathable midweight materials that feel well suited to Australian riding conditions, balancing comfort, durability and decent temperature regulation.

Pinnacle Bib Shorts – Olive
The bib shorts are probably the standout piece in the range.
The chamois gets things right immediately – supportive without feeling overly thick or bulky. On longer rides, comfort stays consistent without pressure points or noticeable movement, and the density feels comparable to bibs at a much higher price point.
The leg grippers are wide and secure without being overly tight, while the olive colourway is a nice change from the usual sea of black bibs. It still looks understated, but gives the kit a bit more personality.
Most importantly, the bibs just disappear once you’re riding. Whether it’s a short spin or a longer weekend ride, they stay comfortable throughout.

Pinnacle Jersey – Blanc
The jersey follows the same formula as the bibs – clean styling, solid comfort and a premium feel without overcomplicating things.
The fabric works well across a broad range of conditions. It’s lightweight and breathable without feeling paper-thin, and it still holds its shape nicely when the rear pockets are fully loaded.
Fit is performance-focused without being overly aggressive. The sleeves use a laser-cut style cuff that sits neatly against the arm without feeling restrictive, while the overall cut stays comfortable on longer rides.
Visually, the Blanc colourway keeps things understated. It pairs particularly well with the olive bibs and avoids the loud graphics and busy patterns that a lot of cycling kit seems to lean toward lately.

C&C Socks – White V2
The socks round out the kit nicely.
They’re lightweight, breathable and hold their shape well across multiple rides and washes. The cuff height sits in that modern mid-length sweet spot, while the fabric offers a comfortable level of compression without feeling too tight.
There’s nothing groundbreaking here – but that’s not really the point. They’re simply a solid, well-executed pair of cycling socks that do exactly what you want them to.

On the Road
What stands out most once you start riding in the kit is how natural everything feels.
There’s no break-in period or anything that needs getting used to. The bibs fit well, the jersey breathes properly, and the whole setup just feels comfortable from the first ride.
The fabrics are well suited to typical Australian riding conditions too. While the range leans slightly toward a midweight feel rather than ultra-light race kit, it still performs well across everything from cooler morning rides to longer weekend sessions.
Durability also feels promising so far. The stitching, fabrics and overall finishing all feel well put together, rather than disposable kit that’ll lose shape after a few months of riding.

Value Proposition
This is really where the Pinnacle range makes the most sense.
The overall feel and performance are comparable to kit from much bigger names in the cycling space, but without the inflated pricing that often comes with them. That balance between quality, comfort and pricing is easily the biggest strength of the range.
Verdict
Caffeine & Cranks has found a pretty impressive balance with the Pinnacle range.
The bibs, jersey and socks all feel genuinely premium on the bike, with clean styling and solid comfort throughout, but without the pricing creep that’s become common across a lot of high-end cycling apparel.
It’s not bargain-bin kit, nor is it trying to be. Instead, the range sits comfortably in that mid-to-premium space, offering the feel of more expensive gear at a more approachable price point.
Most importantly, everything simply works. The fit is comfortable, the fabrics feel high-quality, and nothing feels overcomplicated or overdesigned.
For riders wanting premium-feeling kit without spending Rapha-level money, Caffeine & Cranks is shaping up as one of the more compelling local options right now.
