Wahoo Launch Debut ‘Elemnt Rival’ Sports Watch,

Wahoo have entered the sports watch market with the launch of the long-rumoured ‘ELEMNT RIVAL’.

Aimed at the triathlon / cycling market, at first glance the watch appears to be a no nonsense multi sports watch designed to integrate with other Wahoo products.

Specifications include 14 days of battery life (24 hours in GPS mode), a 64 colour screen, ceramic bezel and gorilla glass lens, 50m water resistance, phone, message and email notifications plus of course optical heart rate monitoring.

Up against several big players well established in the sector, Wahoo’s debut smart watch offering misses out on a number of key features. These include contactless payments, no sleep tracking, no music, no Strava live segments and no mapping or breadcrumb trail information on the screen. Instead the company are focussing more on core sporting functions such as touchless transitions between triathlon legs and seamless integration with other Wahoo devices.

The watch is expected to be available in Australia in early 2021 at an RRP of $599
