Gallery + Podcast: Indian Pacific Wheel Race Latest Plus Steffen Streich’s Specialized Roubaix

At dusk on Day 6 of the 5500km Indian Pacific Wheel Race, a gruelling self-supported race across the nation, some 59 riders remain in the epic trans-Australia adventure.

Belgian ultra-endurance cycling legend Kristof Allegaert remains in front – he has covered more than 2550km since leaving Fremantle at 6:00 am on Saturday. Mike Hall is some 80km behind Kristof with both riders expected to pass through the city of Adelaide in the early hours of Friday morning.

With riders spread out more than 1200km across two states, we took a look at the field earlier today.

Steffen Streich’s Specialized Roubaix

As winner of the 2015 Trans Afrika Bike Race, Steffen Streich is no stranger to ultra-endurance events. Currently riding in 10th place overall, the Greece-based rider had covered 2016km at 6pm on Thursday night. Here we take a look at the Specialized Roubaix Steffen is racing across Australia.
