Fizik Volta Saddle

The Volta upon first sight, and with the preconception of the current shapes from various manufacturers in mind, is a strange looking unit; almost like a magazine rolled up int the shape of a funnel or loud haler! It’s based on the need that some riders have for a saddle that is rounded across the seat rather than a flat platform. The idea is that this will allow their pelvis to pivot from side to side axially along the saddle.  This concept, a rounded shape with a flat nose and deep sides is similar to saddles such as the Selle San Marco Regal, Rolls or Brooks B17.  Fi’zi:k looked at many models of rounded saddles from their riders in the peloton and discovered that they were all similar in cross section at the mid-point and developed the Volta. If you are someone who likes a rounded seat, perhaps the Volta is for you?
